Bahrain’s Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has signed an agreement with Batelco, part of Beyon, for the operation and investment of 10 electronic advertising screen sites along Muharraq Ring Road for a period of five years.
Under the agreement, Batelco will manage and invest in the digital advertising screen locations, supporting efforts to modernize municipal advertising infrastructure and expand the use of digital technologies in the sector.
The agreement was signed in the presence of Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs, and Maitham Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Batelco.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Abdulaziz Ahmed Al Na’ar, Chairman of the Muharraq Municipal Council, along with officials from the ministry and Batelco.
The Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture said that the agreement forms part of its initiatives to improve the utilization of municipal assets and strengthen cooperation with the private sector in support of digital transformation programs.
Wael bin Nasser Al Mubarak, Minister of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, emphasized that the agreement supports the development of municipal advertising assets through the adoption of advanced technological solutions that align with developments in the advertising industry.
Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipalities Affairs, highlighted that the agreement will contribute to more efficient management and development of advertising sites while increasing their investment value.
Al Khalifa added that expanding the use of digital advertising screens will provide advertisers with more flexible options and improve services for beneficiaries.
Khalid Ali Al Qallaf, Director General of Muharraq Municipality, commented that the project is part of the municipality’s plans to increase the use of digital advertising platforms and convert a larger share of advertising locations to electronic formats.
Maitham Abdullah, Chief Executive Officer of Batelco, mentioned that the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to supporting Bahrain’s digital transformation through the deployment of advanced technologies and digital solutions.
Abdullah added that Batelco will utilize its technical expertise to develop and operate the advertising sites in accordance with established standards while supporting operational efficiency and smart city development initiatives.
