The National Health Regulatory Authority (NHRA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain has enhanced its health product registration service through a newly upgraded electronic system, aimed at improving customer experience and aligning procedures with internationally recognized standards.
The updated platform by NHRA strengthens electronic verification processes to ensure data accuracy and procedural integrity, supporting the quality of health products in the Bahrain and reinforcing patient and community safety. It also enables agents to submit applications under revised procedures consistent with global benchmarks.
Processing time has been reduced from 20 to 15 working days, while the service level agreement has been streamlined. The application process has been simplified to four steps: submission, document upload, fee payment, and review by the competent department, followed by approval issuance via the Adweya digital system. Service information has also been unified across channels to enhance efficiency, quality, and customer engagement.
Ahmed Mohammed Al Ansari, NHRA Chief Executive, commented that the upgrade supports the authority’s strategy to adopt innovative digital solutions that enhance healthcare quality and safety.
The NHRA Chief Executive added that the initiative reflects NHRA’s commitment to continuously improving services, reducing time and effort for companies and agents, strengthening regulatory efficiency, and advancing digital transformation in the health sector.
The development forms part of broader government efforts to improve services, with more than 1,300 services documented, translated and published, and 800 undergoing re-engineering across sectors. These initiatives are based on feedback from the national suggestions and complaints system ‘Tawasul’, investor input, and mystery shopper reports, alongside the introduction of updated guidelines and service level agreements to improve efficiency, service quality and user experience.
