Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, has conducted field visits to several telecom companies across the Kingdom to assess operational readiness and review precautionary measures to ensure the continuity of essential services amid regional developments.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa visited a branch of Batelco, a subsidiary of Beyon, at City Centre Bahrain, in the presence of Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of Beyon, and members of the executive management. During the visit, he was briefed on the company’s network readiness and measures in place to ensure uninterrupted telecommunications services.
The minister also visited the STC Bahrain branch at the same complex, where he was received by the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Khalid Al Osaimi. The visit included a review of the technical and operational preparations undertaken to enhance network efficiency and maintain service continuity.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa also toured the headquarters of Zain Bahrain in Seef District, where he met with Managing Director Mohammed Abdullah Zainalabedin. Discussions focused on the company’s efforts to strengthen its network and further develop its technical capabilities to ensure reliable telecommunications services.
The Minister also visited BNET, where he met with Chief Executive Officer Ahmed Jaber Al Doseri and was briefed on the company’s initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, as well as its emergency response plans to ensure uninterrupted connectivity.
Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa emphasized the importance of maintaining a high level of readiness across the telecommunications sector, noting that it represents a key pillar of national security and digital infrastructure. He commended the efforts of telecommunications companies in strengthening their technical capabilities and enhancing rapid response mechanisms to address emergency situations.
Officials from the telecommunications companies expressed their appreciation to the Minister for his visit and continued engagement with the sector’s preparedness, affirming the readiness of telecommunications networks and digital infrastructure in the Kingdom and their commitment to implementing operational and precautionary plans to ensure service continuity under all circumstances.
