The Emirates Council for Balanced Development (ECBD) has launched development works for the Al Rams Waterfront and Al Rams Boulevard projects in Ras Al Khaimah, as part of efforts to transform UAE villages and rural areas into integrated development destinations that support sustainable growth and improve community quality of life.

The projects, located in the Al Rams area, are designed to create vibrant public destinations while preserving and highlighting Emirati national identity. The Al Rams Waterfront project includes the development of Al Rams Corniche and Al Rams Marina, while the Al Rams Boulevard project will redevelop the area’s main commercial corridor and connect it to the corniche through an integrated urban design system.

The Al Rams Waterfront will extend across 2,000 meters and include dedicated walking, cycling and jogging tracks, alongside public facilities, parking spaces, landscaped green areas, playgrounds and plazas for events and community activities. The project is expected to strengthen Al Rams’ role as a social and cultural hub while providing a safe and organised environment for sports and recreational activities.

The Al Rams waterfront development will also feature a landmark inspired by authentic Emirati heritage, aimed at enhancing the area’s visual identity and reinforcing its cultural and tourism appeal.

Meanwhile, the Al Rams Boulevard project will renovate and rehabilitate more than 100 existing shops under a unified modern design inspired by local heritage. The project will also include additional parking spaces and public seating areas.

A shaded pedestrian walkway inspired by the traditional Emirati Al Sadu weaving art will form the centerpiece of the boulevard project, linking shopfronts and extending towards Al Rams Corniche.

To minimize disruption to businesses, construction works will be carried out in carefully planned phases to ensure the continuity of commercial activity during the execution period.

The Emirates Council for Balanced Development said it continues to implement development initiatives aimed at enhancing UAE villages and rural areas, transforming them into attractive destinations that offer integrated community experiences while reflecting the authenticity of the Emirati environment and supporting balanced development goals.
