The Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) has announced that King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam will now be included in MSC’s new ‘North India to Middle East’ shipping service.

The move is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s position as a leading regional and global logistics hub, enhancing the Kingdom’s trade connectivity and port competitiveness.

According to the statement, the new service connects King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam with the ports of Mundra, Nhava Sheva, and Hazira in India, Sohar in Oman, and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, with a handling capacity of up to 4,000 TEUs.

This move aligns with Mawani’s broader efforts to elevate Saudi Arabia’s standing in global performance indicators and enhance the operational efficiency of King Abdulaziz Port in Dammam. By attracting major international shipping lines like MSC, Mawani is actively supporting the growth of national exports and reinforcing the Kingdom’s strategic objectives under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy.

As per the reports, the initiative plays a key role in positioning Saudi Arabia as a global logistics powerhouse and a critical link connecting Asia, Europe, and Africa.

With 43 berths and a total handling capacity of up to 105 million tons of cargo and containers, it stands as one of the most important ports in the region for trade and maritime activity.
