The Saudi National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification (NCVC), in cooperation with the Federation of Saudi Chambers, has announced 142 sustainable investment opportunities across the Kingdom.

The opportunities cover more than 60 million square meters and are intended to support environmental development and private sector participation in projects aligned with the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030.

According to NCVC, the total investment value exceeds $191 million (SAR 700 million), with expected returns of up to 16 percent and an internal rate of return of around 17 percent.

The initiative is projected to contribute more than $545 million (SAR 2 billion) to GDP and create around 7,000 jobs.

Public-private investment framework

NCVC stated that the initiative is structured as a public-private partnership model designed to enable investment in environmental and tourism-related projects.

The investment packages offer durations ranging from five to 25 years, allowing participation in both long-term and seasonal opportunities.

The announced opportunities include camping sites, caravan facilities, events, ecotourism, and agritourism projects. These are intended to support investment in natural areas while developing tourism services.

NCVC said the initiative also supports the development of vegetation cover and the sustainable use of natural resources.

The center said the program facilitates ongoing efforts to expand afforestation, improve environmental management, and increase private sector involvement in land development projects.

It added that the initiative is part of broader efforts to align investment activity with national environmental and economic development objectives under Saudi Vision 2030.
