Abu Dhabi’s Department of Health (DoH) is introducing a new Abu Dhabi Healthcare Quality Index “Muashir” which categorizes and grades distinguished healthcare facilities that offer services of exceptional quality to Abu Dhabi’s residents.
The first-of-its-kind initiative in the region in its comprehensiveness and quality appraisal, the Abu Dhabi Healthcare Quality Index would be an extension of the DoH’s 2014 “JAWDA” program which assessed the level of the quality of health services provided by the emirate’s healthcare facilities.
The ‘Muashir’ rating system will primarily focus on nine key pillars including;
Once the necessary are gathered, Abu Dhabi DoH will classify healthcare facilities on a Diamonds Rating System based mathematical and statistical equations that calculate the performance of hospitals according to several levels and group them into five categories.
The Department will reveal the ‘Muashir’ assessments annually.

Single Diamond – Good
Two Diamonds – Very Good
Three Diamonds – Excellent
Four Diamonds – Exceptional
Five Diamonds – Outstanding
