Minister of State for Energy Affairs of the State of Qatar, HE Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, has held a virtual meeting with the Minister of Trade, Industry and Resources of the Republic of Korea, Jung-Kwan Kim, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the energy sector.

The meeting, conducted via video conference, focused on key developments in the global energy landscape, particularly the impact of the ongoing regional conflict on energy markets, supply chains, and pricing stability. Both sides exchanged views on the challenges facing producers and consumers alike, emphasizing the importance of maintaining open dialogue during times of geopolitical uncertainty.

During the discussions, the two ministers explored practical ways to enhance energy security and ensure stable and uninterrupted supplies to global markets. They highlighted the growing need for diversified energy sources, resilient infrastructure, and long-term planning to mitigate the effects of volatility in the sector.

HE Eng. Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi reaffirmed Qatar’s steadfast commitment to its role as a reliable and responsible energy supplier, underscoring the country’s track record of honoring long-term agreements and supporting global energy stability. He also expressed his strong interest in deepening strategic partnerships with the Republic of Korea, particularly in liquefied natural gas (LNG), technological collaboration, and sustainable energy initiatives.

For his part, Korean Minister Jung-Kwan Kim acknowledged Qatar’s crucial role in supporting Korea’s energy needs and praised the strong and enduring relationship between the two nations. He reiterated Korea’s interest in expanding cooperation across various areas of the energy value chain, including clean energy transitions and innovation-driven solutions.

Both sides concluded the meeting by agreeing to continue close coordination and to explore new opportunities for collaboration that would benefit both countries while contributing to global energy security and economic stability.
