Qatar’s Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has unveiled a new award recognizing the best digital Hajj application developed by Qatari Hajj campaigns for the 1447 AH pilgrimage season.
The initiative is designed to encourage Hajj campaign operators to adopt advanced technologies that improve the overall experience of pilgrims while supporting the ministry’s broader efforts to modernize service delivery.
By promoting the development of smart and user-friendly digital platforms, the ministry aims to enhance communication, accessibility, and operational efficiency throughout the pilgrimage journey.
According to the ministry, participating applications should offer a comprehensive range of services tailored to the needs of pilgrims.
These include registration and enrollment facilities, travel schedules and updates, guidance on camp locations within the holy sites, religious information and instructions, as well as direct communication channels with campaign officials.
A key focus of the competition is the integration of emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence. Applications capable of providing AI-powered responses to pilgrims’ inquiries and delivering real-time assistance will receive special consideration, reflecting the growing role of intelligent digital solutions in improving customer service and user engagement.
The submitted applications will be assessed against several criteria, including ease of use, quality and reliability of services, response speed, cybersecurity standards, and the effective deployment of smart technologies to support pilgrims before and during Hajj.
Officials said the award aligns with the ministry’s 2025–2030 strategic vision, which prioritizes the expansion of digital services and the adoption of innovative solutions across various sectors.
The initiative also seeks to strengthen the quality of support available to Qatari pilgrims while encouraging healthy competition among Hajj campaigns to develop more advanced and efficient digital tools.
The launch of the award highlights Qatar’s ongoing efforts to utilize technology in enhancing religious services and ensuring a more seamless, informed, and connected pilgrimage experience for its citizens.
