The Qatar Chamber has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Portuguese Industrial Association-Chamber of Commerce and Industry (AIP-CCI) to strengthen institutional cooperation, promote business development, and expand investment and trade ties between Qatar and Portugal.
The agreement was signed during a virtual ceremony by Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori, Acting General Manager of the Qatar Chamber, and Filomena Pina Perez, Director of the Portuguese Industrial Association.
The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between the two organizations, with a focus on encouraging investment in both countries, supporting the establishment of company branches, and enhancing collaboration between Qatari and Portuguese businesses.
It also provides for joint efforts to identify international business opportunities through market research, consultancy services, knowledge and expertise exchange, trade delegations, and business networking initiatives.
Ali Bu Sherbak Al Mansori said that the agreement marks an important step in strengthening cooperation between the two organizations and further developing economic and commercial relations between Qatar and Portugal.
Al Mansori noted that Qatar and Portugal share long-standing bilateral relations and said there is significant potential to expand cooperation between their private sectors.
The agreement will facilitate communication between businesses in both countries through information exchange, business meetings, trade missions, and the exploration of investment opportunities.
Al Mansori underscored that the partnership would contribute to higher bilateral trade, encourage reciprocal investment, and support the establishment of joint ventures in sectors of mutual interest.
Ms. Filomena Pina Perez remarked that the MoU would enhance cooperation between the business communities of Qatar and Portugal by promoting the exchange of trade delegations and encouraging investment between the two countries.
Perez commented that the Qatari business delegations would visit Portugal to explore investment opportunities, particularly in the industrial sector, while noting the Portuguese business community’s interest in learning more about the investment opportunities available in Qatar.
