The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), represented by the Sharjah Exports Development Centre (SEDC), has successfully wrapped up its trade mission to India.
During the visit, Sharjah Chamber engaged in a series of business meetings and discussions with key officials from economic entities in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. These meetings were held on the sidelines of the Business Forum organized by the Sharjah Chamber in Ahmedabad, the second stop of the trade mission.
The forum was attended by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI; Waleed AbdelRahman BuKhatir, Second Vice Chairman of SCCI, and Jamal Mohamed Sultan Binhuwaidin, SCCI Board Member, alongside several Chamber staff members.
Business leaders, entrepreneurs and private sector representatives from Sharjah and Ahmedabad also attended the event.
The Business forum explored ways to deepen economic partnerships and bolster industrial and investment collaboration between Emirati and Indian private sector stakeholders.
Sharjah’s business-friendly environment was highlighted, notably its cutting-edge infrastructure and investor incentives. The Sharjah Chamber also presented a range of support services that empower entrepreneurs to enhance their operations and expand global market reach.
Al Owais stated that the Sharjah–India Business Forum in Ahmedabad comes as part of its commitment to enhancing the economic and trade ties between the two countries.

“Through this mission, we aim to convert this positive momentum into fruitful partnerships between the business communities of the UAE and India in general, and between Sharjah and Ahmedabad in particular, thereby enhancing economic and investment collaboration to support joint growth.”
The Chairman stressed that India’s exports to the UAE reached around $37.1 billion in 2024. India also ranked as the leading destination for the UAE’s non-oil exports, accounting for 13.5 percent of total exports and recording a remarkable growth of 75.2 percent compared to 2023.
Over 20,000 Indian companies are now headquartered in the emirate, highlighting the growing prominence of Sharjah’s business landscape. Al Owais further underscored the strategic significance of Ahmedabad as one of India’s most vibrant industrial and economic powerhouses.
The Sharjah Chamber delegation also visited several economic institutions in Ahmedabad, gaining insights into their business activities and service offerings.
These visits included discussions on potential areas of cooperation, industrial integration, exchange of expertise, and the adoption of best practices, to launch investment partnerships that benefit both sides.
