UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has discussed bilateral ties and regional developments with His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq of the Sultanate of Oman.
During the phone call meeting, they also discussed the close fraternal relations and cooperation between the two countries. The two leaders explored ways to strengthen these ties in a manner that serves mutual interests and contributes to the prosperity and well-being of their peoples.
The call also covered several regional and international issues of mutual concern. The two leaders exchanged views on developments in the Middle East, particularly in the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
According to the statement, they reaffirmed their support for the Palestinian people and underscored the importance of international efforts to uphold the two-state solution and advance it as the only viable path to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the region.
UAE-Oman Relations
The UAE–Oman relationship is both historically rich and forward-looking, defined by cultural symbiosis, steady economic interdependence, major infrastructure projects, and expansive investment partnerships. These elements have cemented their strategic alliance, one that continues to evolve through diplomacy and shared development goals.
The economic ties between the UAE and Oman have witnessed substantial growth. By the end of 2023, non-oil bilateral trade reached about $13.9 billion, with similar trade and investment flows recorded in Omani rials.
Oman remains the UAE’s second‑largest GCC trading partner, while Oman exports heavily to the UAE across sectors like machinery, chemicals, and industrial goods. Likewise, Emirati investments in Oman are strong in industries such as finance, tourism, power, real estate, and construction.
At the end of the meeting, His Highness and His Majesty also exchanged greetings on the occasion of the Prophet’s birthday, expressing their hope that this blessed occasion brings peace and stability to the Islamic world and to all of humanity.
