DEWA International explores energy cooperation with French companies

A high-level delegation from Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has visited Paris to strengthen cooperation with global energy and water companies and explore opportunities in renewable energy, clean technology, and utility infrastructure projects.

The delegation was led by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of DEWA International, and included Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence; Marwan Bin Haidar, Executive Vice President of Innovation and Future at DEWA; along with senior DEWA officials.

During the visit, the delegation met with the management of EDF, TotalEnergies, and Engie to discuss potential areas of cooperation and exchange knowledge on energy and water sector developments.

DEWA stated that the visit is part of its efforts to expand international partnerships through DEWA International, a wholly owned subsidiary established to develop global energy and water projects, share utility expertise, and support sustainable infrastructure solutions worldwide.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer remarked that the discussions focused on opportunities in renewable and clean energy, green hydrogen, energy efficiency, advanced water desalination technologies, and innovation in conventional and clean energy projects.

Al Tayer added that DEWA International aims to extend DEWA’s operational expertise to international markets by supporting the development, financing, delivery, and operation of power and water projects globally.

DEWA International works with governments, developers, and financial institutions on infrastructure projects across areas including renewable energy, energy storage, grid flexibility solutions, and integrated power and water developments.

The company also utilizes DEWA’s experience across the energy value chain, including power and water generation, transmission, distribution, solar photovoltaic, concentrated solar power, green hydrogen, hydropower, and green data centers.

Al Tayer highlighted that DEWA continues to use digital innovation, artificial intelligence, and Fourth Industrial Revolution technologies to support sustainable growth and strengthen its global partnerships.
