Dubai and Kuwait have discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation in maritime transport, customs, and trade exchange.

Abdullah bin Damithan, Chairman of the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) in Dubai, met with Khaled Abdulrahim Al Zaabi, Consul-General of Kuwait in Dubai and the Northern Emirates, at PCFC’s HQ in Dubai.

The meeting also highlighted the corporation’s strategic initiatives and ongoing projects aimed at strengthening supply chain resilience, improving logistics efficiency, and ensuring the smooth flow of trade across regional and international markets.

Discussions emphasized the importance of innovation and collaboration in supporting sustainable growth in the maritime and customs sectors.

According to the statement, the maritime relations between Dubai and Kuwait have continued to expand through closer cooperation in port operations, shipping, logistics, and customs coordination.

Both sides are working to strengthen regional connectivity, improve trade efficiency, and support sustainable growth in the maritime sector through strategic partnerships and infrastructure development.

Furthermore, the trade relations between Dubai and Kuwait continue to strengthen through growing cooperation in commerce, maritime transport, logistics, and customs services.

Both sides have focused on enhancing bilateral trade partnerships, facilitating smoother supply chain operations, and expanding investment opportunities across key sectors, including ports, free zones, and regional trade infrastructure.

Bin Damithan underscored the corporation’s role in supporting the business community amid ongoing geopolitical changes worldwide.

Al Zaabi praised PCFC’s initiatives and efforts to strengthen UAE-Kuwait relations, commending its swift and efficient response to the incident involving the Kuwaiti oil tanker Al Salmi while in Dubai waters, and the key role played by the Dubai Maritime Authority in managing the situation.
