The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has participated in the 68th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federation of GCC Chambers, held with the participation of heads and representatives of Gulf chambers.
The meeting formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance coordination and integration among private sector institutions across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.
During the session, participants reviewed the plans and activities of the General Secretariat of the Federation of GCC Chambers for the upcoming period.
Discussions focused on strengthening the Federation’s role in representing and supporting the interests of the Gulf private sector while improving cooperation between member chambers.
The Chamber also took part in the 14th consultative meeting between GCC Ministers of Trade and Industry and heads of chambers and federations of commerce.
The meeting addressed key challenges affecting regional trade and logistics, including procedures for the movement of trucks during the current crisis, shortages of equipment, containers, and storage facilities for strategic goods, as well as rising costs related to shipping, transportation, and marine insurance.

HE Faisal bin Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI, highlighted that, “Such meetings represent a key pillar in strengthening Gulf-level coordination and advancing economic integration. They reinforce the role of the private sector as a strategic partner in the development process across GCC economies. It is also important to develop institutional frameworks for cooperation and adopt joint initiatives that improve the efficiency of the business environment and enhance the competitiveness of Gulf economies amid rapidly evolving regional and global conditions.”
