Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Oman’s Foreign Minister, held discussions with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, on the latest regional developments and issues of mutual interest.
The discussion took place as part of ongoing consultations and coordination between the two sides regarding regional developments and shared positions on key issues.
According to the statement, the discussions also focused on supporting efforts to reach consensus on several regional files, particularly negotiations aimed at resuming maritime navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.
Oman-Qatar Bilateral Relations
Oman and Qatar share strong bilateral relations built on mutual respect, historical kinship, and strategic diplomatic alignment. The two countries maintain regular high-level exchanges and consultations on regional and international developments, reflecting their shared commitment to Gulf stability and cooperation within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Economic relations between Oman and Qatar have expanded steadily in recent years through increased trade exchange, investment partnerships, and collaboration in sectors such as energy, tourism, logistics, transportation, and infrastructure.
Earlier in 2026, the two countries signed an executive program for cooperation in agriculture, livestock, and fisheries for 2025–2027, aimed at strengthening food security, sustainability, technical exchange, and joint development initiatives.
According to the various reports, both nations also cooperate closely on regional security, maritime navigation, and efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and peaceful solutions to regional challenges. In addition, cultural and educational exchanges continue to strengthen people-to-people ties and support broader bilateral collaboration between the two countries.
