The Sultanate of Oman has inaugurated its Oman Visa and Medical Screening Center in the Philippine capital, Manila, marking a major step in strengthening the Sultanate’s overseas workforce recruitment system and streamlining pre-travel procedures for Filipino workers heading to Oman.
The operational headquarters of the Oman Visa and Medical Screening Center was inaugurated as part of Oman’s efforts to enhance the efficiency, transparency and reliability of work visa processing and medical screening, while safeguarding the interests of both employers and workers.
The inauguration ceremony of the Oman Visa and Medical Screening Center was jointly officiated by Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, and Dr. Mahad bin Said Ba’owain, Oman Minister of Labor, in the presence of senior officials from Oman and the Philippines.
During the visit, the two ministers toured the center’s facilities and reviewed its operational capabilities, including its equipment, workflow mechanisms and various stages of transaction processing.
They also received a briefing on the procedures for issuing work visas, conducting mandatory medical examinations and implementing measures to ensure the protection of applicants’ personal data and official documents.
The newly inaugurated Oman Visa and Medical Screening Center is the first integrated facility dedicated exclusively to serving Philippine nationals applying for work visas to the Sultanate of Oman.
The facility enables applicants to complete both visa processing and mandatory medical examinations at a single location, reducing processing time, simplifying procedures and improving the overall recruitment experience for workers and employers.
The launch of the Oman Visa and Medical Screening Center forms part of Oman’s broader efforts to modernize labor mobility services, improve recruitment standards and facilitate smoother entry procedures for expatriate workers before their arrival in the Sultanate.
