The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is launching a new Commercial Franchise program in order to educate Omani business owners about the advantages and opportunities associated with commercial franchises.

OCCI said in a statement that “the program will start from the Governorate of Muscat next month before it is rollout out to most of the governorates of the Sultanate of Oman through to February 2023.”

As part of the program, a number of seminars and workshops are planned at the branches of the OCCI in various governorates of the Sultanate.

Furthermore, various presenters will share their positive experiences on the significance and benefits associated with commercial franchises.

OCCI is launching the program in cooperation with the Rawaq Training Institute as well as various government and private agencies, including the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion, the Ministry of Interior represented by the governors’ offices, and the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Development Authority.

Through workshops, sessions, and field visits, the program seeks to promote the business culture of franchising across various product and service categories. Further, it intends to encourage Omanis to explore entrepreneurship.

According to the statement, “The Chamber is hopeful that large numbers of Omani business owners and entrepreneurs from different governorates take part in the program.”

Earlier this year, the Musandam branch of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) announced the setting up of Musandam International Investment Company, which is the largest Omani joint-stock company in terms of the number of shareholders.
