PureHealth, a leading healthcare group in the Middle East, has earned full accreditation from the Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs (AAHRPP) for its SEHA and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) entities.

The research divisions of SEHA and SSMC operate under the Abu Dhabi Health Research Centre (ADHRC), PureHealth’s integrated clinical research hub. ADHRC coordinates activity across 16 hospitals, primary care clinics, and advanced laboratories in Abu Dhabi.

With over 200 active studies, including both early and advanced clinical trials, as well as translational research, ADHRC is supported by a unified governance framework that ensures oversight and quality at scale.

AAHRPP accreditation is considered the gold standard for human research protection worldwide. Institutions must meet stringent, voluntary peer-reviewed standards that exceed regulatory requirements, demonstrating their commitment to ethical research practices.

SEHA and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC)  have now secured full accreditation for a three-year term, reinforcing PureHealth’s leadership in ethical clinical research and enhancing Abu Dhabi’s standing as a regional hub for research and innovation.

This recognition highlights PureHealth’s clinical research capabilities and underscores the group’s commitment to high-quality, ethical research.

AAHRPP accreditation

The AAHRPP accreditation is a key factor for clinical trial sponsors when selecting research sites. It provides independent assurance that institutions adhere to globally recognized standards for ethics, human subject protection, and operational integrity, thereby enabling the delivery of complex, high-impact clinical research.

With this accreditation, PureHealth enhances its competitive position as a preferred regional partner for complex clinical trials, distinguishing itself through proven ethical and operational excellence.

As Abu Dhabi continues to advance its healthcare and life sciences strategy, this accreditation further strengthens PureHealth’s role in positioning the Emirate as a competitive destination for ethically governed, high-quality clinical research.
