Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of passenger flights to three major Iraqi destinations, Baghdad, Basra, and Erbil, starting May 10, 2026.
In addition to passenger services, the airline confirmed that freighter operations to Baghdad will restart on May 7, 2026, strengthening cargo connectivity and supporting trade flows between Iraq and international markets.
The latest expansion comes alongside Qatar Airways’ broader efforts to rebuild and enhance its Middle East network.
The airline has recently reinstated daily passenger services to key regional destinations, including Dubai, Sharjah, Bahrain, Damascus, and Kozhikode, significantly improving travel options and regional connectivity for passengers.
According to the airline, the reinstated routes aim to provide greater flexibility, enhanced connectivity, and improved access across the Middle East and beyond, reinforcing its position as a leading global carrier.
Qatar Airways stated that it is advancing the phased restoration of its international network, with its flight schedule expected to expand significantly from June 16, 2026.
By then, the airline plans to operate services to more than 150 destinations across six continents, reflecting a strong recovery and strategic growth trajectory.
The airline emphasized that the expansion aligns with its long-term commitment to strengthening global connectivity while meeting rising passenger and cargo demand across key markets.
Qatar Airways has advised passengers to regularly check its official website and mobile application for the latest updates on flight schedules. It also urged travelers to ensure their contact details are accurate and up to date to receive timely notifications.
The airline noted that schedules remain subject to change or cancellation due to operational, regulatory, safety, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond its control.
