SalamAir expands Rwanda operations with Mitravi partnership

SalamAir has partnered with Mitravi powered by Blueberry Group, appointing the company as its official General Sales Agent (GSA) in Rwanda.

The partnership supports the airline’s commercial operations ahead of the launch of its direct Muscat–Kigali service on July 21, 2026.

Under the agreement, Mitravi, powered by Blueberry Group, will manage SalamAir’s sales, marketing, trade engagement, and customer support activities in Rwanda.

The cooperation strengthens the airline’s presence in the market and supports the introduction of its services to the local travel trade and customers.

The agreement was signed by Waheed Al Balushi, International Regional Sales Manager of SalamAir, and Jitesh Sobhani, Regional General Sales Agent Manager of Mitravi, powered by Blueberry Group.

The appointment comes ahead of SalamAir’s launch of twice-weekly direct flights between Muscat and Kigali, further expanding the airline’s international network and providing direct connectivity between Oman and Rwanda.

According to the airline, the new service will also provide passengers with onward connections through Muscat to destinations across the GCC, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and other markets served by SalamAir.

SalamAir highlighted that the Muscat–Kigali service is expected to support both inbound and outbound tourism, facilitate business travel, and contribute to trade and cultural exchanges between Rwanda and Oman.

The airline added that the new route will provide travelers in Rwanda with access to SalamAir’s network across the GCC, the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, and other international destinations. It will also provide passengers from across SalamAir’s network with improved access to Rwanda.

According to the airline, the partnership with Mitravi reflects its plans to expand operations in Rwanda while supporting greater regional connectivity and affordable travel options.

SalamAir currently operates a fleet of 17 aircraft serving more than 40 destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East.
