Saudi Arabia and Turkey have signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the logistics and railway sectors, marking a significant step toward enhancing transportation connectivity, technology exchange, and sustainable infrastructure development between the two countries.
The agreements were signed following high-level talks between Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistic Services Saleh Al-Jasser and Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu at the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services headquarters in Riyadh. Uraloğlu is currently visiting the Kingdom leading a senior delegation.
The two ministers discussed opportunities to expand cooperation in transport and logistics, exchange expertise, and support the development of strategic projects that contribute to economic growth and regional connectivity.
Following the meeting, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Turkey formalized their cooperation through the signing of two MoUs designed to strengthen collaboration in key transportation sectors.
The first memorandum focuses on logistics services and operations. It includes cooperation in the exchange of expertise, best practices, policies, and regulatory frameworks aimed at improving logistics efficiency, facilitating trade, and enhancing supply chain performance in both countries.
The second memorandum centers on railway cooperation and technology development. It covers a broad range of areas, including railway technologies, signaling and communication systems, railway digitalization initiatives, and human capacity development. The agreement also supports efforts to localize the railway industry, promote knowledge transfer, and reduce the environmental impact of railway operations through sustainable practices and innovation.
The MoUs reflect the growing strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Turkey and underscore both countries’ commitment to advancing modern transport infrastructure, fostering technological innovation, and strengthening cooperation in sectors critical to economic diversification and long-term sustainable development.
