President of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah Alghamdi, has toured the operations of digital devices and e-gates on Wednesday at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to review the latest technological implementations and ensure smooth operations.
Director of the National Information Center at SDAIA, Esam Alwagait, joined the tour along with several other senior officials and technical staff. SDAIA operates these systems and monitors them technically around the clock to serve visitors arriving to perform Umrah, facilitating their entry and departure procedures efficiently and securely.
During the tour, Dr. Alghamdi reviewed SDAIA’s operational efforts for advanced digital systems, which incorporate cutting-edge technologies and smart solutions specifically designed to streamline passenger procedures, reduce waiting times, and enhance overall operational efficiency across all airport operations.
These highly sophisticated systems significantly improve the travel experience for Umrah performers, ensuring convenience and comfort while keeping pace with ongoing national initiatives aimed at developing, modernizing, and continuously upgrading services provided to visitors throughout the Kingdom.
The visit is part of SDAIA’s ongoing and comprehensive efforts to ensure full readiness and seamless operation at the Kingdom’s major entry points, particularly through the strategic use of advanced digital technologies, data analytics, and artificial intelligence to enhance and optimize passenger services at Saudi airports.
At King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, SDAIA oversees the operation of approximately 70 e-gates and 636 digital device stations strategically spread across six international passenger halls, boosting operational efficiency, streamlining passenger journeys, and further elevating the quality of service and overall experience for all visitors to the Kingdom.
