Air India Express has reinstated flights to Qatar and Bahrain and expanded services to the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia, operating more than 40 daily flights between India and the Gulf region starting April 30, 2026.

The airline said services have resumed from major Indian metro cities and regional hubs, including Amritsar, Bengaluru, Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kochi, Kozhikode, Kannur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, Mumbai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, and Varanasi. The move restores key connectivity routes and increases seat capacity across one of its most important international markets.

Flights to Doha and Bahrain mark the reinstatement of previously suspended routes, while frequencies to destinations in the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia have been enhanced. The airline continues to operate to major Gulf cities such as Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Al Ain, Jeddah, Riyadh, and Muscat.

Revisions in Air India Express schedule

Under the revised schedule effective April 30, Air India Express will connect multiple Indian cities to Gulf destinations.

In UAE, Dubai will be served from Kannur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, and Tiruchirappalli, while Abu Dhabi will see flights from Delhi, Kochi, Kozhikode, Mangaluru, and Mumbai. Sharjah will be linked with Amritsar, Jaipur, Kannur, Kozhikode, and Varanasi.

In Oman, Muscat will have services from Delhi, Kannur, Mumbai, and Thiruvananthapuram.

Saudi Arabia routes include Jeddah from Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kozhikode, and Mangaluru, and Riyadh from Kannur and Kochi. Dammam will be connected to Kochi, Kozhikode, and Mangaluru.

The reinstated Bahrain routes will operate from Kannur and Kozhikode, while Doha flights will connect Kochi and Kozhikode.

The airline said the expanded network aims to meet rising demand for travel between India and the Gulf, particularly among expatriate communities and business travelers, while strengthening its position in the region.
