The Ministry of Industry and Commerce of Bahrain has launched ‘Commercial Establishments Credit Rating Platform’ in partnership with BENEFIT to enhance transparency in the credit market and support the sustainable growth of businesses.

The Credit Rating Platform delivers accurate and transparent credit assessments that reflect the true financial and operational position of enterprises in Bahrain. It provides SMEs with an additional financing channel to support expansion, while enabling lenders to allocate funds more efficiently using reliable data and unified standards.

The system allows businesses to professionally present their financial records, helping improve financing terms, increase approval rates, and accelerate credit processing.

The collaboration between the Ministry and BENEFIT introduces an innovative credit assessment model that offers lenders deeper insights into financial behavior, reduces operational costs, and strengthens transparency and stability in the credit market.

Abdulla bin Adel Fakhro, Bahrain Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of the SME Development Board, highlighted the government’s strong support for SMEs. He described the Credit Rating Platform as a qualitative leap in Bahrain’s financial infrastructure, enhancing credit decisions through objective indicators that build trust, competitiveness, and sustainable growth.

Abdulwahed AlJanahi, CEO of BENEFIT, said the partnership supports national efforts to advance digital transformation in the financial sector. He noted that the Credit Rating Platform will improve credit risk assessment, direct funding more effectively to eligible businesses, and accelerate SME growth.

The Ministry of Industry and Commerce encourages commercial establishments, particularly SMEs, to leverage the Credit Rating Platform as an added financing avenue and explore credit rating-based products, reinforcing Bahrain’s position as a supportive environment for entrepreneurship.
