Bahrain Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture has conducted a workshop on Benayat national building permit system, in cooperation with the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA) and the Bahrain Property Development Association (BaPDA).

The Benayat system is the national unified platform for issuing building permits across Bahrain. The platform allows property owners and engineering offices to submit applications, track progress, pay fees, and access relevant regulations via a comprehensive interactive map.

Through this workshop, they aim to familiarize participants with the regulatory and technical procedures on Benayat system while presenting upcoming service developments. The workshop gathered a wide range of developers and investors.

Shaikh Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Undersecretary for Municipal Affairs at the Ministry of Municipalities Affairs and Agriculture, highlighted the ministry’s commitment to enhancing its digital services and elevating the customer experience through the adoption of cutting-edge electronic systems that enhance procedures and expedite transactions.

The undersecretary also stated that the Benayat platform contributes to improving the quality and efficiency of building permit services. The importance of continued collaboration with professional and civil organizations to support awareness and keep pace with service improvements was also highlighted.

During the workshop, the iGA carried out a detailed presentation on the Benayat system, such as the services available to property owners and the interactive Bahrain map.

Aaref Ahmed Hejres, Chairman of BaPDA, commended the ministry’s efforts to simplify procedures and enhance the quality and efficiency of services provided to citizens and residents.

The chairman stressed that the ongoing partnership between the association and the ministry play a key role in supporting the real estate and investment sectors while enhancing Bahrain’s attractiveness to investors.

Benayat system is supported by the National Geographic Information System, which includes over 300 spatial data layers serving more than 30 public and private entities.
