Bahrain’s Gulf Air appoints a Director for Strategy and Planning

The national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Gulf Air has appointed Sh. Ali bin Mohammed Al Khalifa as its Director of Strategy and Planning. 

Sh. Ali Al Khalifa who is expected to report directly to the Chief Executive Officer will manage one of the airline’s main business units that is responsible for Gulf Air’s long term strategic plans as well as its network growth.

Joining Gulf Air’s Revenue Management department in 2005 as a Route Analyst, Sh. Ali Al Khalifa progressed in his career within the department ending up as Senior Manager Revenue Management in 2013. He further served the organization at his most recent post, as a Senior Manager Network Planning which helmed in February of 2017.

As the national carrier, Gulf Air is dedicated to investing in its Bahraini workforce and their career development, and it continues to provide opportunities for Bahraini nationals to take over higher management positions in the company. Bahrain citizens represent 84% of employees that are based at the headquarters in Muharraq. 97% of its First Officers, 100% of its Second Officers and 97% of its male cabin crew are all Bahrainis.
