EDGE has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Nicomatic to establish a strategic cooperation framework for the local supply of advanced connector technologies at the Make it in the Emirates 2026.
The Letter of Intent (LOI) was signed by Julien Nicollin, Group CEO of Nicomatic, and Ahmed Al Khoori, SVP of Strategy & Excellence at EDGE, and it was witnessed by Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE.
Through this agreement, EDGE and Nicomatic will collaborate to establish local production and supply of high-performance connectors, ensuring reliable signal and power transmission across advanced defense systems while supporting the UAE’s strategic goals for self-reliance and technological excellence in the defense sector.
By embedding specialized capabilities within the UAE, this partnership strengthens the development of a resilient and integrated industrial ecosystem, while accelerating the localization of critical technologies and key subsystems across the nation’s defense and advanced manufacturing sectors.
Last month, EDGE and Indra Group entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on the development and production of next-generation radar systems in Brazil. This partnership is designed to drive technological innovation and advance radar system capabilities in the region, reinforcing local expertise and supporting the development of next-generation defense solutions.
Recently, EDGE signed a Global Air Carrier Services Agreement with Etihad Airways at Make it in the Emirates (MIITE 2026), consolidating its airfreight operations under the UAE’s national carrier. Under the agreement, the company will procure airfreight services through Etihad Airways’ cargo operations for shipments on behalf of itself and its growing portfolio of 35 entities.
