The Muscat Stock Exchange (MSX) has signed a strategic cooperation agreement today with the NetZero Era Company, reinforcing its commitment to sustainable finance and carbon market development in Oman.
The announcement was made during the ongoing Oman Sustainability Week 2026, highlighting MSX’s proactive role in supporting the country’s green economic agenda.
The agreement with NetZero Era is part of MSX’s broader strategy to drive the Sultanate’s transition toward a low-carbon economy and align the local financial market with international sustainability and climate action standards. It reflects the exchange’s ongoing efforts to enhance the role of capital markets in fostering a resilient and sustainable investment environment.
Under the terms of the agreement, both MSX and NetZero Era will collaborate on developing sustainable financial instruments, facilitating the exchange of data and expertise, and expanding joint initiatives focused on sustainability and carbon markets. These efforts are expected to improve market efficiency, attract green investments, and support Oman’s transition toward a more environmentally responsible economy.
MSX emphasized that the agreement with NetZero Era aligns with global best practices in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and climate-related finance, ensuring that Oman’s capital markets remain competitive and future-ready. The initiative also reinforces MSX’s ambition to become a leading regional hub for sustainable finance.
This MSX-NetZero Era agreement demonstrates MSX’s commitment to integrating sustainability into the financial ecosystem, supporting investor confidence, and advancing Oman Vision 2040 objectives related to green growth, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
By promoting sustainable finance and strengthening ESG practices, MSX continues to contribute to the development of a capital market ecosystem that balances economic growth with environmental stewardship, aligning Oman with international climate and sustainability trends.
