Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has signed an agreement with Uber, to launch the Uber app services in Ras Al Khaimah, as part of its efforts to enhance the transportation system and simplify the mobility experience within the emirate.
The new agreement aims to strengthen its transport ecosystem and introduce smarter, more diverse mobility options by enabling taxi and limousine bookings through the Uber app. Under the partnership, users can book reliable taxi and limousine rides via the Uber app 24/7, with secure digital payments ensuring a seamless and convenient travel experience.
The agreement was signed by Esmaeel Hasan Al Blooshi, Director-General of RAKTA, and Tala Nsouli, General Manager of Uber UAE, at RAKTA’s headquarters, in the presence of several department directors and officials.
The partnership also expands accessible transport options for residents and the growing number of tourists visiting the emirate each year.
Al Blooshi said the agreement reflects RAKTA’s ongoing efforts to modernize transport services and adopt smart solutions that enhance customer experience, in line with Ras Al Khaimah’s vision for a sustainable and intelligent mobility system. He noted that integrating taxis and limousines into the Uber platform marks a significant step forward for the emirate’s transport sector, improving efficiency and advancing a connected public transport network.
Al Blooshi added that Ras Al Khaimah is among the few cities in the region offering taxi services through the Uber app, underscoring its commitment to innovation in mobility.
