Saudi Arabia’s National Water Company (NWC) has completed a water infrastructure project connecting the reservoir in Ghran City to the Al-Ashyab water filling station in Khulais Governorate as part of its efforts to improve water distribution efficiency and service delivery.
The project is part of the company’s operational initiatives to develop water infrastructure, improve the efficiency of the distribution network, and implement sustainable solutions that support service quality.
According to NWC, the project involved the construction of an 8-kilometer water transmission pipeline connecting the Ghran reservoir with the Al-Ashyab water filling station.
The project is expected to benefit around 10,000 residents in Ghran by improving the efficiency and reliability of water supply across the area.
The company stated that the new pipeline will reduce the time required to fill the operational reservoir to less than 24 hours, compared with the previous three to four days. This will enable faster pumping of water to the districts served by the network, helping meet customer demand more efficiently and maintain a more consistent water supply.
NWC added that the project will also reduce reliance on water tankers by improving the efficiency of the water distribution system. The upgraded infrastructure is expected to support more reliable water delivery while improving day-to-day operations and resource management.
The company noted that the project forms part of its ongoing program to expand and modernize water infrastructure across Saudi Arabia. Through these projects, NWC aims to improve network performance, increase operational efficiency, and support the delivery of water services in line with growing demand.
The latest project supports its strategy to strengthen water distribution systems and improve the quality and reliability of services provided to customers across the Kingdom.
