The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DHL Express to enhance logistics capabilities and strengthen trade facilitation for businesses across the emirate.
The agreement is designed for international shipping operations, facilitates foreign trade flows, and improves export and re-export efficiency for SCCI member companies.
The MoU was formalized at SCCI headquarters in the presence of senior officials from both organizations. Signatories included HE Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, Director-General of SCCI; Mahmoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director of DHL Express; and Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Muqarrab, Director of International Relations at SCCI.
A central pillar of the agreement is the extension of DHL Express’s global shipping services to SCCI members and SME entrepreneurs under preferential terms.
This initiative is expected to reduce logistical barriers and enable businesses to scale more efficiently while expanding into new international markets.
The partnership also introduces support mechanisms, including co-branded marketing initiatives, awareness seminars, and digital outreach programs.
These efforts aim to equip businesses with the knowledge and tools required to navigate complex global trade landscapes and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Additionally, the collaboration will integrate advanced technology solutions, including e-shipping platform connectivity, to optimize trade processes and enhance overall supply chain performance.
HE Mohamed Ahmed Amin Al Awadi emphasized that the collaboration reinforces SCCI’s commitment to delivering world-class services that foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and sustainable economic growth.
Al Awadi noted that improved access to advanced logistics solutions will enable member companies, particularly SMEs, to scale operations and strengthen their presence in international markets.
DHL Express brings to the partnership a well-established operational footprint across the UAE, featuring more than 150 daily flights, three major airport hubs, over 350 delivery vehicles, and 35 service points nationwide.
This extensive infrastructure supports seamless connectivity across key global markets, including the GCC, the United States, Europe, and Asia.
With deep sectoral expertise spanning industries such as automotive, pharmaceuticals, energy, technology, fashion, aviation, engineering, and manufacturing, DHL Express is well-positioned to support Sharjah’s diverse business ecosystem.
