The Qatar Ministry of Transport (MoT) and the Qatar Society of Engineers have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen collaboration in research and development in smart transportation.

The partnership will focus on advancing transport studies, enhancing road safety, and supporting the development of laws and legislation aligned with Qatar’s evolving mobility sector.

The MoU will help strengthen national expertise in the road transportation sector by supporting the development of specialized training programs, workshops, educational sessions, and professional upskilling initiatives focused on mobility innovation. It will also promote capacity-building and knowledge exchange to equip professionals with the skills needed to address emerging challenges in the transport sector.

As part of the agreement, engineering personnel within the Ministry of Transport’s Land Transport Affairs will have access to dedicated training programs to enhance their technical competencies and professional development.

MoT’s Assistant Undersecretary for Land Transport Affairs Eng. Abdullah Saif Al-Sulaiti, and Chairperson of the Qatar Society of Engineers, Eng. Amna Mohammed Al Naama, signed the MoU.

The Ministry of Transport is strategically advancing innovation across the transportation sector while strengthening collaboration, partnerships and the exchange of expertise in line with Qatar’s national policies and infrastructure development priorities. These efforts are guided by the Ministry of Transport’s strategy, the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3), and the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030).

Shaped by the aspirations and guiding principles in QNV2030, the Third National Development Strategy (NDS3) for the State of Qatar establishes the strategic priorities and overarching framework for the next period of the nation’s development from 2024-2030. NDS3 outlines the major outcomes and targets, along with the development initiatives and reforms necessary to achieve the aspirations of QNV 2030.
