ADNEC Group, a Modon company, has partnered with the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC) to power the ADNEC Centre Al Ain with renewable and clean energy.

This expanded partnership will significantly reduce the carbon footprint of major events hosted at the ADNEC Centre Al Ain, further positioning ADNEC Group as a global leader in sustainable events.

This underscores ADNEC Group’s dedication to sustainability and its ambitious goal of achieving net-zero carbon emissions by 2045.

ADNEC Group hosts over 500 events annually across its UAE-based venues. Both the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi and the ADNEC Centre in Al Ain have transitioned to 100 percent clean energy, achieving zero carbon emissions from their energy consumption.

“This milestone highlights ADNEC Group’s commitment to sustainability and our drive to adopt clean, innovative solutions for a greener events industry. By powering all our venues with renewable energy, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also setting a benchmark for the industry as we work towards achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2045.”

Ahmed Ali Alshamsi, CEO of EWEC, said that, “EWEC’s successful partnership with ADNEC Group now extends clean energy solutions to ADNEC Centre Al Ain, marking another significant milestone in our joint sustainability journey.”

“This expansion reflects our mutual commitment to accelerating the UAE’s clean energy transition and supporting the decarbonization of Abu Dhabi’s key economic sectors, contributing directly to the UAE’s sustainability targets. By powering both venues with clean energy, we are establishing a compelling benchmark for sustainable events across the emirate, and demonstrating the real-world impact of strategic partnerships,” Ali Alshamsi added.

As part of this strategic partnership, ADNEC Centre Al Ain will receive 100 percent of its grid power from EWEC’s renewable and clean energy sources. This commitment is validated through the issuance of International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-REC) by the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, as per the statement.
