Asyad Group, Oman’s integrated logistics provider, has announced the acquisition of Ligentia, a UK-based logistics services company, to expand its international footprint and deliver integrated, multimodal logistics solutions across the value chain.

The acquisition effectively doubles Asyad’s capacity to offer end-to-end logistics services, reinforcing its position as a global player in supply chain management.

It also strengthens the group’s diversified asset portfolio and international reach, which now spans 24 countries with operations across 76 cities.

A key component of the deal is the integration of Ligentia’s advanced ‘Legientix’ control and monitoring platform.

The system enables real-time tracking, seamless integration with enterprise resource planning systems, and predictive analytics, providing customers with enhanced visibility and operational control.

This marks Asyad Group’s second international acquisition in under two years, following its purchase of Skybridge Shipping Solutions in July 2024.

Since its establishment, Asyad Group has demonstrated strong financial growth, with revenues rising from $320 million (OMR 123 million) in 2016 to an estimated level exceeding $2.1 billion (OMR 800 million) in 2026.

The group continues to expand its logistics ecosystem, including ports, free zones, and infrastructure assets such as dry dock facilities and the planned railway network linking Oman and the UAE.

“This acquisition marks a defining moment for Asyad Group. By integrating Ligentia’s advanced digital capabilities and global network with our world-class logistics ecosystem, we are accelerating our expansion into key international markets. This move reinforces our commitment to deliver smart, integrated logistics solutions that create long-term value for our customers and partners worldwide, unlocking new global opportunities across critical trade corridors.”

By connecting Omani ports and economic zones to global trade routes, the group aims to create new opportunities for local businesses, including small and medium enterprises, and generate employment.

The acquisition is expected to add more than 6,000 customers to Asyad’s portfolio, while strengthening its fourth-party logistics (4PL) capabilities.

Ligentia’s expertise in sectors such as retail, automotive, manufacturing, and e-commerce will further enhance Asyad’s ability to manage complex global supply chains with advanced technology and operational excellence.

As part of the integration, a regional center will be established in Muscat to monitor and analyze supply chains.
