GASTAT and stc Group partner to advance data collaboration

The General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) has signed a memorandum of cooperation with stc Group, marking a strategic move to enhance collaboration in the field of data and statistics.

The agreement aims to coordinate efforts between the two entities to diversify and strengthen sources of statistical information across the Kingdom.

The agreement also supports the two sides’ integration to achieve their mutual goals and facilitates the exchange of expertise in their respective fields.

GASTAT President Fahad Al-Dossari and CEO of stc Group, Olayan Alwetaid, attended the signing ceremony.

The memorandum is part of GASTAT’s ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with various institutions from both the public and private sectors on providing statistical data and indicators while elevating service standards by using the latest technological advancements. It aligns with endeavours to activate digital transformation, support the national economy, and bolster sustainable development, contributing to the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

By leveraging stc Group’s advanced digital infrastructure and data capabilities, the partnership will support GASTAT in improving the quality, scope, and accessibility of national statistical data.

According to the reports, “This initiative aligns with Saudi Arabia’s broader digital transformation goals and Vision 2030, which emphasize data-driven decision-making and the development of a robust knowledge economy.”

GASTAT

GASTAT is Saudi Arabia’s central government body responsible for implementing, supervising, and regulating statistical work across the Kingdom. It was established in 2015, transforming from the Central Department of Statistics and Information into a legally and administratively independent authority.

It operates under a Board of Directors chaired by the Minister of Economy and Planning, with members including ministers from Energy, Finance, Education, and other key sectors, plus statistical experts.
