Saudi Arabia and Syria have advanced cooperation in the land transport sector, with officials meeting in Riyadh to discuss enhancing connectivity and logistics integration.
Eng. Abdulmajeed Al-Tassan, Vice President for Regulation at the Saudi Transport General Authority (TGA), received Mohamed Omar Rahal, Assistant Minister of Transport of the Syrian Arab Republic, along with his accompanying delegation at the authority’s headquarters.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed a number of topics of mutual interest, focusing on the development of the land transport sector and identifying opportunities to enhance operational efficiency.
Discussions also covered regulatory coordination, infrastructure utilization, and ways to strengthen cooperation in line with shared sectoral priorities.
A key focus of the discussions was facilitating the movement of passengers and goods between the two countries.
Officials emphasized the importance of ensuring seamless cross-border transport, improving logistical efficiency, and reducing potential bottlenecks that may impact trade flows.

Both parties highlighted the need for continued coordination to support the smooth flow of land transport services. Strengthening the integration of supply chains was identified as a critical factor in improving service delivery and supporting the expansion of regional trade and logistics networks.
