A delegation from the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) has signed economic agreements and investment partnerships worth approximately $11 million (RO 4.23 million) during an official visit to the China, targeting key sectors including logistics, tourism, and manufacturing.
The agreements aim to enhance supply chain efficiency and strengthen the competitiveness of the Omani market through strategic international partnerships.
Among the notable agreements, a bus supply contract valued at over $5.2 million (RO 2 million) annually was signed between a Chinese firm and Al Massar Logistics Company. Another agreement covers the development of an advanced tourism camping project worth around $3.1 million (RO 1.2 million).
In addition, an agreement was signed to establish a specialized tent manufacturing plant at an estimated cost of $1.3 million (RO 500,000). Further deals include the supply of integrated production lines for water bottles, handling equipment, diesel lifts, and electric forklifts, valued at about $1.38 million (RO 530,000), along with extended operational warranties.
The delegation, headed by Zahir Mohammed Al Kaabi, OCCI Board Member and Chairman of the Chamber’s branch in Al Buraimi Governorate, also reviewed global industrial trends during visits to the Canton Fair in Guangzhou, as well as specialized exhibitions focused on robotics, artificial intelligence, plastics, and the automotive sector.
OCCI’s industrial visits in China
As part of the visit, the OCCI delegation toured industrial facilities in Panyu District, examining operations in packaging equipment, cooling systems, and prefabricated mobile buildings, with the aim of transferring automation expertise and improving production efficiency within Oman’s private sector.
The OCCI delegation also held bilateral meetings with major Chinese companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), resulting in preliminary agreements to enhance direct sourcing channels and explore joint investment opportunities, particularly in logistics services.
