The Sultanate of Oman strengthened its economic and trade presence at the 57th Algiers International Fair through the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding between Omani companies and their Algerian counterparts, aimed at expanding cooperation across key industrial and commercial sectors.

The agreements, signed during its participation in the Algiers International Fair, covered multiple sectors including logistics, food and fisheries industries, building materials, manufacturing industries, and industrial and commercial products.

The deals are part of broader efforts to boost the presence of Omani products in African and international markets and support the growth of non-oil exports, in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040 to diversify income sources and enhance national economic competitiveness.

Omani companies showcase diverse sectors

The Sultanate is participating in the Algiers International exhibition with 20 companies representing a range of vital economic sectors, reflecting the increasing competitiveness of Omani products in regional and global markets.

These sectors include food and beverages, fish and seafood, iron and building materials, agriculture and fertilizers, plastics, buses and commercial vehicles, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, logistics services, as well as perfumes, gum, bottled water, sweets, and handicrafts.

Officials said the agreements at the Algiers International Fair are part of ongoing efforts to strengthen economic and trade relations between the Sultanate and Algeria, while also opening new opportunities for investment partnerships and expanding the footprint of Omani companies in African markets.

The Algiers International Fair serves as a key platform for business deals and bilateral meetings between Omani business leaders and international counterparts, facilitating trade exchange and investment cooperation across various sectors.

Through its participation, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion is seeking to identify growth and expansion opportunities for national companies, while also showcasing the latest developments and innovations across economic sectors. The initiative aims to enhance the global presence of Omani businesses, support economic diversification efforts, and strengthen the competitiveness of Omani products in regional and international markets.

The signing ceremony was attended by HE Ambassador Saif bin Nasser Al-Badai, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, along with officials from Oman Exports and representatives of participating Omani companies.
