Abu Dhabi Chamber explores trade cooperation with Maltese Ambassador

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce & Industry’s (ADCCI) Chairman Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei has discussed the possibilities of expanding economic and trade relations between Abu Dhabi and Malta with Ms. Maria Camilleri Calleja, Malta’s Ambassador to the UAE.

According to the statement, this came during a meeting held at the Chamber’s headquarters in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Chamber.

During the meeting, both sides discussed the best ways to enhance trade exchange between the two friendly countries, especially as the global economy enters a post-pandemic recovery phase.

Mr. Al Mazrouei emphasized the UAE’s and Malta’s strong economic ties, stating that the UAE is Malta’s most important commercial partner in the region. “There is a great opportunity to expand our trade partnership in strategic sectors including technical industries, tourism, entrepreneurship, and advanced technologies,” he noted.

The Chairman further added that “the business environment in Abu Dhabi is one of the most vibrant and attractive for foreign direct investments thanks to the ease and flexibility of doing business in the emirate.”

“It is imperative to share experiences and information; seize promising opportunities and reaching more markets,” Mr. Al Mazrouei stated.

Ambassador Calleja praised the UAE’s business development, emphasizing that there is a great opportunity to do business in the UAE, particularly while Expo 2020 Dubai is still going on, and that her country expects more cooperation and partnerships between the business communities in their countries.

Recently, Abu Dhabi Chamber’s Director-General Mr. Mohamed Helal Al Mheiri discussed the ways to strengthen cooperation between businesses with Mr. Afzaal Mahmood, Pakistan’s Ambassador to the UAE.
