The ‘Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon’, organized by the Aseer Development Authority in partnership with King Khalid University and strategic partners, has concluded, marking a major milestone in the region’s efforts to foster innovation, empower youth, and drive sustainable development.

The three-day event, held at the university’s Exhibition and Conference Center, brought together more than 30 teams comprising innovators, entrepreneurs, programmers and students from across Saudi Arabia.

Participants of Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon competed across five core tracks: investment, transport and infrastructure, smart tourism, environmental sustainability, and design studio, presenting advanced technological solutions and working prototypes tailored to regional development challenges.

Targeting a broad audience from both public and higher education sectors, as well as the private sector, the Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon aimed to develop practical, tech-enabled solutions using emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT) and augmented reality.

Acting CEO of the Aseer Development Authority Eng. Hashim bin Abdullah Al-Dabbagh affirmed that the Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon represents a qualitative step in empowering youth and transforming their innovative ideas into implementable projects.

He added that the outcomes achieved reflect the great creative potential of the nation’s sons and daughters and align with the objectives of the ‘Qimam and Shiyam’ (Peaks and Morals) strategy and Saudi Vision 2030, to make Aseer a global destination for living, investment, and tourism.

In addition to the competitions, the Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon featured a rich agenda of workshops, expert-led panel discussions, and an exhibition with 12 interactive pavilions. These showcased opportunities in entrepreneurship, technology, and startups, and included dedicated networking spaces to connect participants with government entities, private sector leaders, and strategic partners.

The Aseer Innovates 2025 Hackathon forms part of ongoing efforts to stimulate digital transformation, attract national talent, and position Aseer as a leading regional hub for innovation and sustainable economic development.
